What is Shabby Chic?
Shabby chic, also known as shabby elegance or cottage style, is a vintage-inspired style of home décor that is meant to evoke a feeling of easy elegance that reflects quality rather than newness.
Wood pieces are distressed or sanded to look worn, and the most prevalent fabric tend to be cottons and linens, sometimes stained with tea, bleached or faded to appear antique. The most popular colors are pink, mint green, and soft aqua, and anything with a rose print tends to be lumped into the shabby chic scheme as well.
